The Themersons Summon a Boojum and Incite an Apocalypse Which Demands an Active and Useful Avant-Garde in Every Discipline

Image
Full photograph and details of a piece began in 2018, during lectures on the Themersons  and their contribution to 20th avant-garde thought and practice, and completed only when the inevitable happened and the Boojum - constructed of fragments of Themersons' photograms - appeared in the image in the worrisome days of 2020 to begin the digestion of the universe.  Inkjet prints on paper, cardboard, and tracing paper, mounted onto wooden frame. Photograph of a crucifix found on an abandoned academic worktop.

Greetings from the future

Welcome to the brand spanking new Ergo Phizmiz blog for the roaring 20s. Over the past few months I have been working to create new audio/visual compositions that constitute digital art made without the interference of a computer, made using an inkjet photocopier and realtime image manipulation. These images were created as part of the development of our new production "Dimbola Mikado", which premieres at Dimbola Lodge in Autumn 2020. Supported by Arts Council England and Sound & Music's Francis Chagrin Award.
